And from the female aspect - where are all the ladies from the boating community.
I need support here girls :)

We can chat about back cabins, lace plates or cooking on board. Or if you're like me we'll talk about blacking the hull and grinding rust off

And from my personal aspect - where are all the ladies from the boating community?
I need support here girls. I've always enjoyed the company of women much more than men.

So far as canal boating is concerned I started in 1965 when my father hired a boat then the following year bought one. I had my first boat in 1974 when I was 19.
My current boat "Alcatraz" is my seventh. I've gone from wooden cruisers to GRP to a pair of 1935 working boats, then there was a wide beam twin screw rivercruiser, and now poddle around in my little 40 year old all steel narrow boat.

But I don't fool myself, I don't have 43 years boating experience, I have one year's experience 43 times!

Actually I was born in 54, but my birth must have traumatised me so much I spent the first year speechless and staggering about. :?

Older than you I probably am, but children I have not, let alone grand children ............ I found out what causes them .......... six pints of lager and a curry! Then they are forever attracted by the opening of your wallet.

It also means that when the time comes I shall be able to go into which ever rest home I choose, and not the one they think my dwindling estate can support and still leave then an inheritance.
I've chosen it already actually, it's the Bubbles Fandango home for retired pole dancing aficionados. A mere £5K a week and their motto is that the residents always come first!
